1. Who we are

Jajeer Times (the "Site", available at jajeertimes.com) is the satirical news publication of Jajeer Talkies ("Jajeer Talkies", "we", "us" or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site, our newsletters, social media pages and any related services (together, the "Services").

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Services you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy and our Content Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

3. Eligibility

The Services are intended for users aged 18 and above. If you are under 18, you may use the Services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or lawful guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental consent.

4. Nature of our content

All editorial content on the Site is satire, parody or humour. Headlines, articles, images, captions, quotes, statistics and bylines may be invented. Where real public figures, places, institutions or events are referenced, they are used for the purpose of fair comment, criticism and parody and not as statements of fact. Any resemblance of fictional characters to real persons, living or dead, is coincidental unless clearly intended as commentary on a public matter. Please read our Satire Disclaimer.

5. Intellectual property

The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, the Jajeer Times name and mark, illustrations, photographs we own, audio, video and the arrangement of all of these, are owned by or licensed to Jajeer Talkies and are protected under the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and other applicable laws. Third-party photographs and materials remain the property of their respective owners and are used under licence.

What you may do

• Read, share and link to our stories for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided that you credit Jajeer Times and link back to the original story.
• Quote short excerpts for commentary, criticism or news reporting, with attribution.

What you may not do

• Republish, reproduce, sell or distribute our content in full or in substantial part without our written permission.
• Remove or alter any satire labels, credits, watermarks or copyright notices.
• Present our content, in screenshots, edits or reposts, as genuine news, or strip it of context in order to mislead others.
• Use our name, logo or branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without written permission.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of the Information Technology Act, 2000 or the rules made under it;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers or any connected systems;
• scrape, crawl or harvest content or data by automated means, except by search engines for indexing in line with our robots.txt;
• upload or transmit viruses, malicious code or anything that interferes with the Services;
• impersonate Jajeer Times, our staff or any other person;
• use our content to train commercial machine learning or artificial intelligence models without our written permission.

7. Submissions

If you send us tips, ideas, letters, images or other material ("Submissions"), you confirm that you have the right to do so and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, edit, adapt and publish the Submission in connection with the Services. We are not obliged to use or return any Submission. Please do not send confidential information or material that infringes another person's rights.

8. Advertising and third-party links

The Site may display advertisements from third parties and in-house parody advertisements created by us. In-house parody advertisements promote fictional products and services and are not offers capable of acceptance. Third-party advertisements and links to external websites are the responsibility of their owners; we do not endorse them and are not responsible for their content, products or practices. 9. Newsletters

If you subscribe to a newsletter, we will email you at the address you provide. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness or reliability of any content (which, being satire, is not intended to be accurate), or that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jajeer Talkies and its partners, officers, contributors and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services or your reliance on any content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services shall not exceed INR 1,000.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jajeer Talkies from any claims, losses or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your Submissions or your misuse of our content, including presenting it as genuine news.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict access to the Services, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the grievance process described in our Grievance Redressal policy, the courts at Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when they were last revised. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
