Advertising Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

This Advertising Policy explains how advertising works on Jajeer Times and the standards that paid advertisers must meet.

1. Types of advertising on Jajeer Times

In-house parody advertisements

Many advertisements on the Site are created by Jajeer Times as part of the joke. They promote fictional products, services and brands. They are not offers, cannot be purchased and have no connection with any real business. Clicking them leads to pages on Jajeer Times.

Paid advertisements

We also accept paid advertising from real businesses, either directly or through advertising networks. Paid advertisements are displayed in clearly labelled advertising positions and never presented as editorial content.

Sponsored content

Any editorial-style content paid for by an advertiser is labelled "Sponsored" or "In partnership with" at the top of the page, in line with the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) guidelines.

2. Standards for paid advertisers

All paid advertisements must comply with applicable Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and its guidelines on misleading advertisements, and the ASCI Code for Self-Regulation of Advertising Content. Advertisements must be truthful, must not mislead, and must be clearly distinguishable from editorial content.

3. Advertising we do not accept

  • Tobacco, vaping, alcohol, and surrogate advertising for these products.
  • Betting, gambling and real-money gaming.
  • Weapons, ammunition and explosives.
  • Adult, sexually explicit or dating services.
  • Unregistered financial products, guaranteed-return schemes and unregulated crypto assets.
  • Medicines, treatments or "miracle cures" making unproven health claims.
  • Political or issue-based advertising, unless we have agreed to it in writing and it carries all disclosures required by law.
  • Advertisements that are discriminatory, hateful, or that target children.
  • Advertisements that imitate news stories, system warnings or the Jajeer Times brand.

4. Editorial independence

Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content. Buying advertising does not buy favourable treatment, and it does not buy protection from satire.

5. Our right to refuse

We may refuse, pause or remove any advertisement at our discretion, including after it has started running.

6. Reporting an advertisement

If you see an advertisement that you believe breaks this Policy, email editor@jajeertimes.com with the page link and a description.
